Naturalist Beaches on the Costa Blanca
Naturist Beaches South of Alicante
Santa Pola
A mere 5 miles from
Alicante centre and one of the closest beaches to Gran Alacant (2min
drive) is Los Arenales Del Sol.
Beach
shops, bars and restaurants boasting stunning sea views line the
recently extended promenade. This lovely beach runs into the gorgeous,
dune backed Carabasi beach. And if you consider ‘white bits’
unflattering, then ‘bare all’ right here as part of the beach here is a nudist beach!
of Santa Pola and the nudist dunes beach El Carabasí.
"Playa Carabasso" (Carabassó beach), between Urbanova and els Arenals
del Sol, in l'Altet.
The quieter end of the beach to the south is an
officially-designated nudist zone, but people are inclined to strip
off
anywhere away from the crowds.
What is there to do?
The beach slopes very gently, so the water is shallow for quite a way
from the
shore and is safe for children to play in. Further out, conditions are
often
suitable for windsurfing. There are also some rocky bits that are good
for
snorkelling, and there is plenty of room for ball games on the sand.
Bars and bites
There are shacks along the beach, serving locally-caught fish, paellas,
snacks, ice cream and cold beers. But if you've got any sense, do as
the
locals do and take ample supplies with you as well, or you'll spend
all day
gawping at the amount of food the family next to you has brought with
them,
and wish you'd thought of picking up a roast chicken and a few bottles
of
rosé.
Getting there
El Carabassí is just off the N-332 coast road, 12km south of Alicante,
to the
east of Elche. There are car parks at intervals along the beach.
La Marina

On the Costa Blanca near Torrevieja beach lies Los Tusales, Guardamar de Segura. Actually located in La Marina area, not far from Torrevieja and near Guardamar de Segura. The beach is long and wide and there are sand dunes with palm trees. The water is crystal clear
If you drive from Torrevieja, one must take coastal road N332 and drive north to Guardamar Segura, but you must not take the exit to Guardamar town, drive until you see signs to La Marina Playas. Then you drive until you see a sign that says Camping International La Marina and by the turn to the right to come to Los Tusales (the beach is also called el Rebollo).
When you come to the beach you must go right if you want to lie on bare area. Naked The area is very long and runs up to the River Segura. There were many nudists on the beach when we were there and there were people of all ages, young and old, tourists and locals. There were also a few clothed persons mixed with naked. There are no showers on the beach. But there is a small kiosk at the parking space where you can buy drinks.
Play Flamenca Torrevieja
Nudist Beach Play Flamenca
There is one towards Playa Flamenca near Punta Prima.
Head south on the N332 and as you approach Lidl Supermarket on the right
hand side go all the way round the roudabout and head back towards Torrevieja and in about 20 to 30 yards you will see an opening onto the scrubland with tracks down to the sea.
Plenty places to park. Make your way down the path to the beach. There is a sandy beach to the right and flat rocks to the left. You will generally find the nudists there.
Playa Libre (the nudist beach).

The entrance to the Playa Libre
via the rock face steps.
|
We
could not provide information about the beaches of the Orihuela
Costa, without mentioning the Playa Libre,
or the Playa Nusdista.
Naked sun-bathing in Spain has no scandalous meaning. There
are people who like an all-over tan, therefore, there are beaches that
cater to this and the Orihuela Costa is no exception.
Nestled under the rock face at Playa Flamenca, off of the
N332 and more or less opposite Lidl, lies the Playa Libre (translates as
free beach).
Accessible from steps cut into the
rock face, this beach is clean, quiet and allows those who choose, the
freedom to sun-bathe and swim without the restrictions of clothing. Of course, dithching your shorts or bikini isn't a
pre-requisite to go onto this beach, but if you are offended by naked
bodies, then this is one to avoid.
To those who enjoy........ENJOY.

Naturist Beaches North of Alicante Airport
|
Situated
approximately 5 km south of Benidorm and 32 km north of Alicante, the fishing town of Villajoyosa is certainly
worth a visit. Many town and cities on the Costa Blanca are referred to
as a ‘jewel’, however, Villajoyosa literally means 'Jewelled town’. The
town runs along its 3.5km fine sandy beach and ends at the fishing
harbour. Of the many beaches, the Centro Beach and El Paradis might be
deemed to be the best. There are other beaches such as Xarco with its
watchtower and Torres beach with a roman tower. There is a small cove
used for diving and naturism, the Raco Conill and the Bol Nou and La
Caleta beaches with their transparent waters are also well worth a visit But the main nudist beach is Playa L Esparello.
Accommodation List of Villajoyosa
Playa L' Esparello
The beach is situated in La Villajoyosa. You can get there by
ferrocarril (local train). Your stop is Paradis and than its a five
minute walk. Follow the signs to the Montiboli hotel and you'll see the
beach.

Javea

Javea has a 20 km coastline that stretches from the Cova Tallá to the
Cala de la Granadella. There is an interesting mixture of beaches with
soft sandy beaches (Arenal beaches), small, shingled beaches bordered
by pine trees which are suitable for diving (Granadella beaches), and
naturist beaches (Ambolo beaches).
| Ambolo Beach |

Is a tiny cove located on the Cabo del Nao. It's
just 280m long and with its new access easy to get to, and frequented by nudists. So if you fancy a secluded dip in the nude

Ambolo beach, Costa Blanca, Spain.
Location:
Ambolo is an officially designated naturist beach, situated a
short drive
away from the resort of Javea (Xabia). It is fairly easy to find
but is only
accessible by car. To find the beach drive south out of Javea and follow the
signs for Cap de la Nau until you see the signs for Ambolo. Ignore the first
turning for Ambolo but take the second one immediately after and
keep to the
right at the small island after the junction and follow the road for a mile
or so until you reach the beach itself.
The beach:
On arrival the only place to park is on the final stretch of road leading
down to the beach. This road is very steep and parking can be a bit of a
nightmare on busier days.
The beach slopes away quite quickly once in the sea and
becomes quite deep a short way out which can make for some quite large
waves, it seemed to be very popular with snorkelers though. There are no
facilities of any description either on or near the beach so you will only
have what you take with you.
Despite the location of the beach and its relative difficulty to get down
to, it was still very popular. There was a mixture of Spanish locals and
German and British tourists, mainly couples and single adults.
I made 3 visits there during the course of my holiday, the first time was
fairly early in the day and the beach was a little quieter and used almost
exclusively by naturists. The second and third visit were in the afternoon
and the beach was a lot busier and only about 50-50 naturist but everybody
seemed to get along quite harmoniously, most of the non naturists seemed
to
be single or small groups of women.
Javea Rentals
Cumbre del Sol

Cumbre del Sol nude beach is situated 5km southeast
of Benitachell, at the northern end of Costa Blanca. This 500 metre long
beach is composed of pebbles and surrounded by high cliffs, giving it a
very sheltered situation. The views from this beach are glorious, on a
clear day you can see the Balearic Islands. Most of the nude sunbathing
happens at one end of the beach (not the end where the bar is located).
Directions
Cumbre del Sol is located in the municipality
of Poble Nou de Benitachell between Javea and Moraira, only a few
kilometres away from the Mediterranean motorway. From the motorway A7
exit Junction 63 Teulada and head to Moraira, as you drop down the hill
past a go kart track turn left at the next roundabout towards Javea.
Head along here for a mile flat round and just before it inclines there
is a white arch to drive through called Combre del Sol. Follow the road
to the top of the development and then over a roundabout following signs
for Playa, the trick is after the orage buildings take the next right
where there are no houses down the hill and then turn right through a
cutting in the cliff, the beach is at the bottom of this road, free
parking available.
It takes about 20 minutes by car from Javea. The beach is half textile and half nudist, but there
does not appear to be any conflict. There are two beach bar/cafes here,
we used the one directly on the beach (too lazy to walk to the other)
this bar was a little expensive but nevertheless very good. A large beer
was 3 Euros and you could get quite an assortment of simple snack type
meals. This bar is in at the textile end of the beach and therefore you
need to cover up to use it. The other bar/cafe seemed to have a bigger
choice of food. There was some work going on at the car park to repair
the sea defences but this was not really a problem. There are sunbeds
and shades available for hire but are expensive at 14 Euros a day. The
pebbles can be a bit hard on the feet so I would suggest visitors take
some sort of beach shoes to wear.

Benitachell Villas and Apartments to Rent
There
are no nudist beaches in Benidorm itself - the nearest beach
for nude
sunbathing would be Raco Conil - this is about 4km south of
Benidorm
towards Villajoyosa - take the N322 towards the casino near
Villajoyosa
and turn left at the casino and follow the road down to the
car park
where you will find a small rocky cove. This is Raco Conil and
a gathering
place for naturists.
