The Almanzora Region
There
is no other climate like it; for this is Europe’s only desert, more
akin to Arizona and New Mexico than anywhere else. This is really the
Wild West! For this was the setting of many famous films of that genre,
including Once upon a Time in the West and A Fistful of Dollars. The
film set is now a great tourist attraction.
It experiences the most sunshine in Europe, averaging 9 hours per day and the least rainfall, 7 ½ inches per year.
